In the history of Aquarium Industry, there were some epoch-making events. One of such events is the introduction of the all-glass aquarium product. ADA Pollen Glass-CO2 diffuser is the first model of such products. It diffuces CO2 in a form of tiny bubbles like pollens and spreads CO2 into the aquarium water. The transparent glass products are blended into the water environment and do not disrupt the aquascape. Each Pollen Glass is professionally hand-crafted by skilled craftsmen, and makes a clear distinction from other conventional plastic diffusers mass-produced in factory. Initially many people believed easy-to-break glass materials were not appropriate for the aquarium products. On the contrary, ADA focused on the characteristics of glass: its clarity and flexibility like water. For us, glass was the most appropriate material for aquarium products. The release of Pollen Glass presaged the coming of a new age of the planted aquarium. In a continuing series, unique glass products such as CO2 Bubble Counter, Pollen Glass Beetle Series and Beetle Counter were released, and the glass-made CO2 supply products became synonymous with the Nature Aquarium Goods. The image of ADA was established as a manufacturer of the glass products.
The development history of CO2 supply products overlaps the history of our company, and we have a strong commitment to the CO2 products. Now CO2 supply system using small CO2 cartridge and CO2 regulator is common practice. However, it was ADA who released the first CO2 supply system, 74-TA/ Ver. 1, in 1985. In the era when aquatic plants were treated as replaceable aquarium parts, establishment of such a CO2 supply system contributed significantly for simplifying the aquatic plant maintenance. We wanted to promote the aquatic plants hobby and spread among general public. In its process, we faced the challenge of improving the safety features of CO2 supply system. In spite of its size, small CO2 cartridge has a high-pressure gas as in a large bottle. So we placed a safety seal on the opening part to avoid accidental discharge. In addition, since the introduction of the first model, TA/ Ver. 1, CO2 regulator has been remodeled and upgraded repeatedly. For example, a durable inner seal which passed more than 1,000 cartridge attachment experiments was adopted, and it was the end of bothersome seal replacement. Beginners and female users tend to be uncomfortable with setting up a cartridge. But the floating needle, designed to open the cartridge seal vertically, reduced the resistance feeling and prevented a gas leakage. All the CO2 regulators in our product line-ups have the highest standard safety features and functionality.
Additionally, a sense of playful touch is also very important for the product of hobby. You can see such a playful touch in products like Beetle Counter in which CO2 bubbles climb up spirally. Cabochon Ruby, whose red mineral like a ruby goes up and down in the glass, and CO2 74 Tropical Forest No. 1-3, which contains image fragrances of the world's three largest tropical forests.
